Disabled Veterans: $1,500 - $3,000 in addition to $5,000
Disabled Persons: (no service connected) $10,000 in addition to the $5,000
Collin County
Over 65: $10,000
Disabled Veterans: $1,500 to $3,000
Collin County Community College District
Over 65: $10,000
Disabled Veterans: $1,500 to $3,000
The over-65 exemption continues for the over-55 surviving spouse of a deceased homeowner. Taxpayer may not take both the over-65 exemption and the disabled persons exemption.
The sales tax rate is 8 1/4% (6 1/4% state, 1% city, 1% Dallas Area Rapid Transit)
*County tax rate shown is for Collin County and the school tax rate is for the Plano Independent School District. Homeowners in Denton County will pay property taxes levied by the City of Plano and county taxes levied by Denton County. School taxes will be assessed by the appropriate school district. Denton County residents do not pay Collin County Community College District tax, nor Collin County Education District tax.
