Electronic Instructions

The application and recommendation forms are electronic forms which can be completed using your computer and the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software. Once you have opened a form in your browser window from the download page of the website, place your cursor in the first field on the form and type into the form field box. You can use the tab key to move from field to field as you work through the form or click in the various form field boxes where you wish to enter information.

There are some limitations to completing the form electronically if you are using Acrobat Reader. If have access to the full Adobe Acrobat product, the following limitations do not apply.

You can save the form only from your browser and only as a pdf document. As long as you stay working in your browser, however, you can save the document multiple times as you work through the application.

Once you exit your browser, you will not be able to save additional information you add to the form. You can always reopen the pdf document, do more editing, and print it; however, it can no longer be saved.

If you must stop work on the application form before you have fully completed it, be sure to print a copy so you can recreate the page if necessary.

You are limited to the amount of viewable space to insert your responses. What you see is what you can print. If the text in the data field begins to scroll out of view in the text entry box, the hidden text will not print when you print the page. (Remember, no additional pages can be submitted with your application as they will not be allowed.)

We recommend that you try to fully complete a page before moving on to the next page so that if later editing is necessary, you can do so from your saved copy. Thus you will be able to make a minor edit and reprint that page even though at that point it cannot be saved.

Tip: You could print the forms for a guide and draft your responses in a word processing program. When you are satisfied with your answers, copy and paste them into the PDF form, print and save. Since you are limited in the response length by the size of the form field, using this method may help you trim your response to fit on the form.
